I’m sending this out Sunday morning instead of evening – leave a comment letting me know if you prefer earlier or later.
This week flew by! I took off Friday and tomorrow (Monday) so I’ve been savoring this long weekend. Lots of reading with a good bit of errand running and a little socializing, the perfect mix (and why all weekends should be three days long).
How was your week?
Now through March 31, get 20% off a one-year subscription to Life With Kat – less than $4 per month! You’ll be able to take part in weekly book chats, get monthly reviews of my favorite reads, access other fun perks, and support the work it takes to create this newsletter.
Reading
Reading this week has been excellent. After finishing And Yet in one sitting on the last day of February, I immediately dove into an ARC, which I’ve been unable to put down (I’ll share more next week). And I’m really excited for my March lineup.
📖 And Yet by Kate Baer – Kate Baer has done it again! I found myself marking up almost every single page, the poems were just that good. Even if you don’t think you’re a poetry person, I highly recommend giving one of her collections a try. They’re super accessible and the subject matter is always timely.
🎧 The Farewell Tour by Stephanie Clifford (out March 7) – [Thank you to Libro.fm for my advanced listening copy.] I received a galley of this one a few weeks ago and as a country music fan I was intrigued by the story. A fictional bio of a country superstar goes on one last tour. So far I’m really enjoying it! (narrated by Carrington MacDuffie)
If you haven’t tried audiobooks or don’t have an audiobook subscription, Libro.fm is my favorite way to listen to audiobooks, and my favorite audiobook company to support. Your purchase supports an indie bookstore of your choosing, and you can pause or cancel at anytime. Use my code (KATHARINE) or this link and get TWO audiobook credits for the price of one.
Watching
Um… just more “Vanderpump Rules” 🤷♀️ As much as I’m enjoying the drama, I think I need a little break from it so I might start watching “Dear Edward” or “Daisy Jones and the Six.”
Listening
Interview with Jennette McCurdy – I read McCurdy’s I’m Glad My Mom Died last year and wasn’t as big a fan of it as everyone else. However, I really liked this interview with her and it helped me to appreciate her book more.
From the Front Porch – Annie B. Jones’ (owner of The Bookshelf in Thomasville, GA) podcast is one of my favorites, especially her monthly reading recaps. I always end up adding at least one book to my TBR.
Loving
The TikTok salad… again.
These peanut butter pretzels.
My haircut. I started seeing a new stylist last year who I just love, they’ve made my hair look better than it ever has. And I think I’ve finally figured out how to style it. It only took 38 years 🤪
Naps. Adjusting to this new normal, one where I actually leave the house frequently, has been exhausting, so I’ve been leaning into naps and rest even more than usual.
In case you missed it…
February in Review (including three reviews of my favorite February books)
And that’s it! Thank you so much for reading and engaging with this newsletter. It means a lot 💛
A reminder for this week: Don’t let thoughts of Monday steal your Sunday.

It is terrific to receive in the morning...by Sunday evenings, I try really hard to step away from my phone, laptop, and tablet to have a more peaceful end to the weekend. Love the changes you made/making to your newsletter!
Thanks for linking to the transcript of the podcast! I wouldn’t have known that was available (I know of the podcast but am not a regular listener) and as someone who has had brain injury, having a transcript to follow along or just to know who is speaking when the voices get too similar is so helpful! I referred to it several times for clarity and it made it so enjoyable!
