Thanks so much for sharing that podcast on women who don’t have children. I would love to hear more of your thoughts on kids! My husband and I have decided we won’t be having kids, so we fit into the “child free by choice” camp — but I’ve still struggled to find child free spaces and conversations that resonate with me. It feels to me like a lot of internet spaces include resentment or even disdain toward parents, which is not how I feel.
Thank you, Kat for the pod and upcoming book recs! I would llike to hear you discuss being child free. I'm in both camps in regards to choices (some not made by me) that have made me child free. I look forward to reading your discussion if you choose to do so!
BTW Black Cake was my favorite book from last year and Miracle Creek was really, really good!
Thank you so much for including the podcast/book about not having children. As a 36 year old very much undecided about her future re: children, this is a subject I’m very much interested in and I’d love to hear what I’m sure would be a very nuanced take from you!
I would love discussion about being child free...it is a choice I made early and have never thought twice about. But we are living in a world where so much is structured on the choice to have children. What does aging look like without empty nesting? I tell my friends with kids that I will give them lessons on it, but still!
thank you for the recommendation on that podcast on not having children/unable to have children. Something that showed up on my radar this past year (choosing not to have kids). I would love to hear more on your personal thoughts on having or not having kids💕
Rebecca Makkai was on The Maris Review! I want to hear your thoughts about both that book (once you have them... I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about it, too) and not having kids!
Thank you so much for posting that book and podcast about not having children. I’m definitely going to check both of them out. I find that as I get older my friends know where I stand on not wanting kids they don’t question it as much but when I was in my late 20s/early 30s I would get questioned a lot more wheras no one will ever question someone when they say they want children.
I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on not having children. I've already learned so. much from you over the years about living with CF--something I likely wouldn't have learned (or made the effort to explore) otherwise. Sadly, we often don't look into things that don't touch is or friends or loved ones. (Of course, books can help!) I think the more we can all hear from different perspectives--especially, as you say, when they're not found elsewhere--the better!

Didn’t know you watched Vanderpumps and now I’m like--SHOULD I?! Also here for the brownie baking 👏🏼

I have an episode with her airing on April 19! Already recorded it.

Rebecca Makkai was on an episode of The Book Case recently - late February I think!
