I feel like I say this every month, but there are SO many good books coming out in February. There’s something for everyone: a new adult social horror, a cozy mystery, an essay collection, a story of friendship, a romance meet cute, and more. Plus, lots of incredible 2020/21 releases are coming out in paperback!
As always, let me know what books you’re looking forward to, especially if they didn’t make it in this roundup. And I’ll be sure to report back on the ones I read, either here or over on Instagram.
FYI – Pub dates continue to shift (in fact, one of the books I read in preparation for this newsletter got moved to May, so stay tuned).
One quick housekeeping item before we get to the books: I have a new code for y’all! If you’ve been wanting to try audiobooks, you can get two for the price of one by using code KATHARINE. LibroFM is by far my favorite audiobook service for lots of reasons: they support independent bookstores (of your choosing!), the cost is the same other audiobook services, their selection is phenomenal, and their app is the most user-friendly I’ve come across so far. Plus you can put your membership on hold or cancel at anytime. Give ‘em a try and get a free book!
In this month’s newsletter…

Paperback releases
The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennet – I read and loved this one when it came out in 2020. Think The Mothers meets historical fiction. Releases today, 2/1.
Four Hundred Souls by Ibram X. Kendi + Keisha N. Blain – This compilation of voices sounds perfect for audio, but I might need a physical copy for my shelf.
The Souvenir Museum by Elizabeth McCracken – I put this on my wish list when I heard Anne Bogel talk about it and I’m hoping to get to it soon.
The Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren – As a huge Christina Lauren fan, I’m not sure why I haven’t read this one yet!
No One Is Talking About This by Patricia Lockwood – This Booker Prize finalist that asks “is there life after the internet?” has me intrigued.
